This month, Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that her supplemental budget for Fiscal Year 2021 (FY 21) will add $150 million to the Housing Production Trust Fund and her proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2022 (FY 22) will feature a record-setting $250 million investment in the Housing Production Trust Fund (HPTF) for a total one-time investment of $400 million.
This month, Mayor Muriel Bowser launched a new program to provide financial assistance to DC residents struggling to make rent and utility payments due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the Stronger Together by Assisting You (STAY DC) program, renters and housing providers can apply for grant funding to cover past and future rental payments in addition to utilities like water, gas, and electricity.
The Administration’s Budget Engagement Forums are designed as interactive discussions where DC residents can provide input to help shape priorities. Mayor Bowser, City Administrator Rashad Young and Budget Director Matt Brown will present an overview of the current budget environment. Following the presentation, Administration Officials will facilitate small group discussion on specific budget priority topics.
