Mayor Bowser to Lead Community Public Safety Walk in Ward 5

On Monday, September 18, at 2 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will be joined by Administration officials to participate in a community public safety walk in Ward 5. During the walk, Mayor Bowser will address neighborhood concerns and hear from DC residents and business owners in the Brookland neighborhood. Starting location of the walk will begin at Noyes Elementary School, 2725 10th Street, NE.

Last year, after a full year of implementing Mayor Bowser’s Safer, Stronger DC plan, Washington, DC has seen a 26 percent decrease in all violent crime, with a 10 percent reduction in homicides, 23 percent decrease in assaults with a dangerous weapon, 32 percent decrease in robberies, and a five percent reduction in sexual assaults.
