(Washington, DC) – On Thursday, March 6, Mayor Bowser will visit three new Black-owned businesses in historic Anacostia that have received support from the District’s Food Access Fund and Neighborhood Prosperity Fund: Sweet Tooth Cafe and Cakes, Sapodilla’s Caribbean Restaurant, and Grounded.
Mayor Bowser will tour Sweet Tooth Cafe and Cakes, including its teaching kitchen, which supports food workforce development and nutrition education. She will then celebrate the grand opening of Sapodilla’s Caribbean Restaurant and participate in an interactive discussion with founder Samantha Abrams. Lastly, the Mayor will visit Grounded, a plant shop, café, and wellness studio.
Community members are invited to meet and join Mayor Bowser at Sapodilla’s for the ribbon cutting celebration.
