(Washington, DC) – On Thursday, February 13 at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser and DC Fire and EMS will announce a partnership with the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) to establish the city’s first publicly accessible paramedic education program.
Scheduled to begin in 2026, the program will allow District residents to pursue rewarding careers as paramedics and create pathways to the middle class. The program aims to expand access to healthcare professions and strengthen the city’s emergency medical workforce.
