Mayor Bowser Weekly Press Guidance for Monday, February 18-Sunday, February 24

This week, Mayor Bowser will continue to celebrate #FairShotFebruary with events underscoring her commitment to and unprecedented investments in public safety, affordable housing, education and transportation.

  • On Wednesday, Mayor Bowser will hold her first quarterly cabinet meeting of her second term, where she will convene and collaborate with District officials on solutions to keep Washington, DC moving forward.
  • On Thursday morning, in honor of American Heart Month, Mayor Bowser will participate in a heart health screening at the CVS Go Red For Women’s Health event. Later, Mayor Bowser will kick off her administration’s annual series of Budget Engagement Forums at the Arthur Capper Community Center, allowing residents the opportunity to share their values and priorities with the Mayor before the fiscal year 2020 budget is finalized.
  • On Friday, Mayor Bowser will advance the District’s commitment to the preservation of sustainable homeownership opportunities at the Wells Fargo NeighborhoodLIFT Program Intake event. Mayor Bowser will also deliver welcome remarks at the Council’s What’s Happening To Black DC event at the John A. Wilson Building.
  • On Saturday, Mayor Bowser will continue her Budget Engagement Forum series at Deanwood Recreation Center in Ward 7, with the last forum taking place on Monday, February 25 at Roosevelt Senior High School in Ward 4.
