- On Monday, Mayor Bowser will visit Ketcham Elementary School for an Every Day Counts! rally, her initiative to focus attention on attendance and efforts to make sure DC students are in school every day. Afterwards, the Mayor will kick off the construction at 555 E Street SW, bringing affordable housing for seniors, a boutique hotel, and innovative retail space to the Southwest neighborhood in Ward 6. That afternoon, Mayor Bowser will host the New Columbia Statehood Commission to discuss moving efforts forward in securing statehood for Washington, DC.
- On Wednesday, Mayor Bowser will celebrate the midway-point in her annual “Home for the Holidays” campaign – the Mayor’s annual drive to place 400+ of the District’s most vulnerable families and individuals into permanent housing during the holiday season. Managed by the Department of Human Services, this year’s event will feature a family of eight signing their lease to secure long-term housing in time for the holidays.
- On Thursday, Mayor Bowser will honor three DC residents, a 911 call taker, and FEMS members with Cardiac Arrest Save Coins for their brave teamwork in returning the pulse of another DC resident suffering from cardiac arrest through CPR.
