This week, Mayor Bowser will highlight her Administration’s work to end homelessness and create pathways to the middle class through job creation and housing expansion.
- On Monday, Mayor Bowser will attend the District’s Workforce Investment Council, the first for the new Chair and Executive Director, to talk about the collective work to create pathways to the middle class by getting residents into jobs. The Mayor will present an update at the Deanwood Citizens Association meeting.
- On Tuesday, Mayor Bowser will provide the keynote at the District of Columbia Building Industry Association Annual Capital Markets CEO Forum where she will highlight the importance of creating jobs and housing.
- On Wednesday, Mayor Bowser will deliver welcome remarks to all attendees of the United States Conference of Mayor’s Winter Meeting and in the evening, she will host a welcome reception with the African American Mayors Association. That night, Mayor Bowser will end her day with her administration’s annual ‘Point in Time’ Count, where she, along with volunteers, will engage homeless neighbors to make them aware of the services available to them as well as execute the annual census of persons experiencing homelessness.
- On Thursday morning, Mayor Bowser and Co-Chair Mayor Soglin will host the Food Policy Task Force Meeting. Later, she will provide a tour of the Capitol Commons, a residence for formerly homeless veterans, to mayors from around the country.
- On Saturday, Mayor Bowser will host the UNCF Washington Mayor’s Masked Ball which raises funds to support scholarships and programs for nearly 4,000 students from the greater Washington, DC-area who attend UNCF-member institutions and other colleges across the nation.
- On Sunday, Mayor Bowser will attend the Korean American Grocers Association annual scholarship banquet.
