Mayor Bowser Weekly Press Guidance: 10/29 - 11/4

Mayor Bowser will highlight a #DCValues Week with a series of events that demonstrate the Administration’s commitment to core values of the DC community, embracing diversity and inclusion and getting the basics of good governmental operations right for all residents.

  • On Monday, Mayor Bowser will release the Age-Friendly DC 2023 Strategic Plan at the Avalon Theatre, highlighting opportunities to build on the Mayor’s investments to make the District a great place to grow older. Later that evening, the Mayor will attend a service at Adas Israel Congregation, standing together with the Jewish community in the wake of the Pittsburgh shootings and attack on the Jewish faith.
     
  • On Tuesday, Mayor Bowser will present the 32nd Annual 17th Street High Heel Race, serving as a Grand Marshall at one of the largest annual LGBTQ community events in the District.
     
  • On Thursday, Mayor Bowser will kick off the 2019 Health Insurance Open Enrollment Season, launching the Stay Covered health insurance “CARE-A-VAN” which will travel across the District assisting residents in getting covered.
     
  • On Friday, Mayor Bowser will launch AlleyPalooza 8.0, a District-wide initiative to repair or renovate alleys across all eight wards over 12 weeks, utilizing input from DC residents to identify locations in need of repair. 
     

On Saturday, Mayor Bowser will attend the ANC 7B Candidate Forum.
