(Washington, DC) – On Wednesday, January 31 at 11:30 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will sign the Defending Access to Women’s Health Care Services Amendment Act of 2018. This legislation requires insurance providers to provide coverage for preventative health care services and products without imposing any cost-sharing requirements, ensuring women in Washington, DC continue to have access to the care they need. Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen wrote the Defending Access to Women's Health Care Services Amendment Act of 2017 and the legislation was passed unanimously by the Council earlier this month.
