The Act also authorizes the Mayor to impose penalties on persons who knowingly transport or trade certain invasive plants and nonindigenous species into Washington, DC.
Prior to the press conference and signing ceremony, media outlets are invited to join Mayor Bowser, DOEE Director Wells, and Ann Honious, National Park Service-East Deputy, for a boat ride to Aquatic Resources Education Center where the press conference will start.
