Monday, May 13, 2019
Mayor to announce DC small business recipients of 2019 Great Streets grants

(Washington, DC)–On Monday, May 13, at 11:30 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will award Fiscal Year 2019 Great Streets grants to 45 DC small businesses to help transform 13 designated corridors throughout the District. The Council’s budget proposal would strip a $2.1 million investment in Mayor Bowser’s Fiscal Year 2020 budget proposal that would be used for the Great Streets and Neighborhood Prosperity Fund programs.

Great Streets seeks to support existing small businesses, attract new businesses, increase the District’s tax base, create new jobs for District residents, and improve commercial vibrancy along the city’s emerging corridors and surrounding neighborhoods. Since 2012, Great Streets has helped more than 400 local businesses create over 4,000 jobs.
