(Washington, DC) – On Friday, November 17 at 12:30 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will join the DowntownDC BID and District officials, performers, and community members to celebrate the holiday season and open the Downtown DC Holiday Market.
Now in its nineteenth year, Downtown DC’s outdoor market will house more than 70 small and local businesses from November 17 through December 23. As part of the opening festivities on Friday, marketgoers will be able to enjoy performances by the Washington Ballet and Washington National Opera, and from Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday.
Starting next week, residents can also take part in DC Cocktail Week, presented by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (RAMW). Running November 28 through December 5, DC Cocktail Week will feature over 100 local establishments serving unique cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages paired with food items.
