Mayor Bowser to Make DC the First City in the Nation to Set Affordable Housing Goals by Neighborhood

Mayor to Kick Off DC Housing Week with Release of Housing Equity Report and Full Comprehensive Plan

(Washington, DC) – On Tuesday, October 15, at 12 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will be joined by DC Office of Planning (OP) Director Andrew Trueblood to release her Housing Equity Report and the District’s full Comprehensive Plan.
 
The Housing Equity Report proposes how every neighborhood in the District can take part in providing affordable housing for residents and the next generation of Washingtonians. The Report also provides an analysis of current affordable housing distribution and outlines how DC will create 36,000 new homes by 2025, of which 12,000 will be affordable. 

The District’s Comprehensive Plan is the document that will guide the District’s inclusive growth. The Office of Planning will accept Official Actions (Resolutions) from Advisory Neighborhood Commissions until January 31, 2020.
