Mayor to Focus on District’s Clean Teams, Trash Compactor Grants, and Rat Abatement

(Washington, DC) – Today, at 3:30 pm, Mayor Bowser will lead her #BacktoBasicsDC community walk in the Columbia Heights community. The Mayor will highlight the importance of the District’s Clean Teams, a grant-funded employment program that keeps commercial corridors clean and graffiti free. The Mayor will also highlight the 2019 recipients of the Commercial Waste Compactor Grants, which reduces trash in our alleys. Finally, the Mayor will announce her rat blitz strategy to identify long-term steps to address education, enforcement, and abatement efforts in targeted parts of the District that have active rodent concerns.
