(Washington, DC) On Monday, March 6 at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will join Ward 2 Councilmember Jack Evans; Chief Gregory Dean, DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (DCFEMS); and Greer Gillis, Director of the Department of General Services (DGS) to highlight the modernization of Engine Company 16. Built in 1932 and Washington, DC’s first four-bay firehouse, Engine Company 16 has been fully renovated for energy efficiency, safer routes to respond and return from emergency calls, and gender-inclusive accommodations for firefighters and emergency personnel.
