PaveDC will Eliminate All Roads in Poor Condition by 2024

(Washington, DC) – On Friday, April 6, at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will launch PaveDC, a comprehensive plan to eliminate all roads in poor condition in Washington, DC, by 2024. The launch will take place at the 10th annual Potholepalooza kickoff at the 14th Street NW Streetscape project, a $16.7-million investment designed to improve roads, sidewalks and streetlights on 14th Street, NW from Thomas Circle to Florida Avenue, NW.

The goal of Potholepalooza, the District’s month-long spring campaign to aggressively repair damaged roadways across the District, is to create a safer environment and streets for vehicles and pedestrians. Residents and commuters are encouraged to report potholes by calling 311, going online, tweeting, or emailing. Starting Friday, April 6, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will repair resident- and visitor-identified potholes within 48 hours. The normal response time is approximately 72 hours.
