(Washington, DC) – On Wednesday, May 24 at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will be joined by District officials and local partners to launch the Downtown Action Plan. The Action Plan is part of DC’s Comeback Plan and will offer specific strategies, programs, and initiatives to reimagine Downtown, while identifying specific roles for the District’s economic partners.
The parklet where the event is being held, located in the Golden Triangle Business Improvement District, was constructed as a result of the DC Office of Planning’s Streets for People grant program. Through this program, the District is expanding usage of sidewalks, alleys, curbside space, parking, and travel lanes to create vibrant public spaces that will support economic recovery, re-envision public space activation, and promote equity.
