(Washington, DC) – On Wednesday, November 15 at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will be joined by District officials and community partners to kick off the transformation of the historic Spingarn High School as the building is reconfigured to house the new DC Infrastructure Academy (DCIA) training center.
Launched in 2018 to provide job training in high-demand infrastructure fields to District residents, DCIA has trained over 2,700 residents so far and partnered with employers throughout DC to connect graduates with career opportunities.
Moving the DCIA to a modernized Spingarn High School will allow the academy to expand and continue the school’s original promise of providing education that lasts beyond the classroom.
