Mayor Bowser to Kick Off Summer Crime Prevention Initiative

(Washington, DC) – On Tuesday, May 1, at 3 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will kick off the Summer Crime Prevention Initiative and celebrate the 10,000th security camera funded through the Private Security Camera Incentive Program. In 2016, Mayor Bowser launched the Private Security Camera Incentive Program which provides rebates for the purchase, installation, and registration of a security camera system on the exterior of a building owned or leased by a DC resident, business, nonprofit, or religious institution. Over the past two years, the program has received over 4,500 applications and provided over $1.5 million in rebates.
