Mayor Bowser to Kick Off Open Enrollment Encouraging All Washingtonians to Sign-Up for High Quality, Affordable Health Insurance

Wednesday, October 31, 2018

(Washington, DC) – On Thursday, November 1, at 9:45 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will kick off open enrollment for individuals and families to sign up for health insurance coverage through DC Health Link, the District’s state-based health insurance exchange established under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). To sign-up for health insurance during open enrollment, DC residents can enroll at dchealthlink.com by January 31, 2019.

The District of Columbia is now ranked second in the nation for most insured residents, with more than 96 percent of its residents covered. DC Health Link provides health insurance to approximately 18,000 District residents through the individual marketplace and more than 76,000 people through the small business marketplace.

The kickoff of the DC Health Link open enrollment period is part of DC Health Link’s #GetCoveredDC, #StayCoveredDC campaign to encourage all DC residents to enroll in high quality, affordable health insurance.

Prior to the kickoff, Mayor Bowser will be interviewed live on C-SPAN, as part of their bus tour of all 50 state capitals where governors, lieutenant governors and cabinet officials have discussed how Washington federal policy impacts them back home.
