(Washington, DC) On Monday, April 3, at 10:30 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will kick off the annual Potholepalooza campaign, beginning in Ward 1. Committed to responding to service requests within 48 hours for 30 days and following up to service requests within 72 hours throughout the rest of year, the Bowser Administration and DC Department of Transportation (DDOT) will continue to advance the repairing of damaged roadways in all 8 wards, and encourage DC residents, commuters, and visitors to report potholes by calling 311, utilizing social media, or contacting the city through online forms and emails.
The goal of Potholepalooza is to accelerate the process to repair all potholes in a timely manner, and ultimately increase awareness of street safety. Last year, DDOT received over 2,000 service requests for pothole repairs and exceeded the initial requests by fixing more than 16,700 potholes during the 2016 Potholepalooza campaign.
