(Washington, DC) – Today, Friday, August 29, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment will officially launch 202Creates Month at the inaugural 202Creates Con. Since 2016, the Bowser Administration has hosted 202Creates Month every September to highlight the diverse talent driving DC’s creative economy—which has grown from a $3 billion sector to a $15 billion engine of jobs, innovation, and culture.
The immersive, one-day 202Creates Con experience at Planet Word Museum will feature fireside chats, panels, live performances, art in action, interactive activations, and networking opportunities with national and local leaders from Live Nation DC, Monumental Sports & Entertainment, the Motion Picture Association, Radio One, National Association of Broadcasters Foundation, Events DC, the DowntownDC BID, and more.
Throughout September, the Bowser Administration will showcase bold, innovative talent from across all eight wards with events including Art All Night (accessible through a new mobile App on the Apple App Store and Google Play), Dine All Night, H Street Festival, DC Jazz Festival, DC Fashion Week, and the 40th Annual Mayor’s Arts Awards.
