Mayor Bowser to Kick Off 2019 Outdoor Pool Season and Celebrate DC’s #1 Ranked Park System

(Washington, DC) – On Friday, May 24, at 4 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will join residents to kick off the 2019 summer outdoor pool season at Langdon Pool and Spray Park.

Mayor Bowser will also celebrate Washington, DC being ranked the #1 park system in the country by The Trust for Public Land. The Trust’s survey found that 98% of District residents live within a 10 minute walk of a park.

District-operated outdoor aquatic facilities will officially open on Saturday, May 25. From Saturday, May 25 through Monday, May 27, outdoor pools will operate from 11 am to 6 pm, and spray parks from 10 am to 8 pm Pools will then remain open on a weekend-only schedule (Saturday and Sunday) through June 16. Starting Monday, June 17, all outdoor pools will operate on individual summer schedules.
