Mayor Bowser to Kick-Off the 2019 Marion S. Barry Summer Youth Employment Program and Announce Partnership with the Office of Comptroller of Currency

(Washington, DC) – On Wednesday, June 19, at 11 am, Mayor Bowser will kick-off the 40th year of the Marion S. Barry Summer Youth Employment Program (MBSYEP) by announcing a partnership with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, an independent bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

The announcement will highlight the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Cities for Financial Empowerment’s $1.75 million financial commitment to extend the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency High School Internship Program to MBSYEP participants. This partnership will increase funding for the MBSYEP program through 2030, totaling $3.5 million.
