(Washington, DC) - Today, June 8, at 3:30 pm, Mayor Bowser will greet and escort students from Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School, joining fellow community volunteers participating in the Bowser Administration’s Safe Passage program. The Safe Passage program works to improve safety as students travel to and from school.
The walk will conclude at Democracy Prep Congress Heights Public Charter School, where the Mayor will announce enhancements to the Kids Ride Free Program, a Bowser initiative which reduces barriers that prevent students from attending school every day. The Mayor will then cut the ribbon on the newly modernized Democracy Prep Congress Heights Public Charter School.
