(Washington, DC) – Tomorrow, Mayor Muriel Bowser will join the Service Employees International Union 1199 to rally for the Fight for $15 DC. This rally coincides with Home Health Care Workers Day and thousands of workers around the world will participate in a day of action to promote raising wages. During the 2016 State of the District Address, Mayor Bowser announced that she would propose legislation raising the minimum wage to $15 in the District of Columbia by 2020.
