Mayor Bowser to Host Senior Fest 2023: Believe the HYPE

(Washington, DC) – On Wednesday, May 31 at 12 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will be joined by the DC Department of Parks and Recreation and DC Department of Aging and Community Living for “Senior Fest 2023: Believe the HYPE.”

At the event, the Mayor will highlight investments and resources that support seniors in the District. She will also announce progress at the Fort Totten Senior Apartments, which will include 93 new units of independent living senior housing, with more than half available to residents earning less than 30% of the Median Family Income. The project was partly funded with over $25 million from the Housing Production Trust Fund from the Department of Housing and Community Development and land disposed of by the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, among other private investments.
