Mayor Bowser to Host Rescheduled Press Call on Cuba Visit This Morning

This Morning at 10:45 a.m. EST, while in Cuba on an exploratory mission with leaders from the Washington region, Mayor Bowser will participate in a call with members of the media. This call was originally scheduled for yesterday evening.
 
On Saturday, February 20, Mayor Muriel Bowser and Washington regional leaders traveled to Cuba on an exploratory mission. This mission is laying the groundwork for future relationships and potential economic and cultural opportunities with the island nation. The mission also serves as a platform for the regional delegation to learn best practices and showcase the Washington metropolitan area’s strengths in transportation, tourism, health, and education. While in Cuba, Mayor Bowser met with Jeffrey DeLaurentis, Charge d'affaires at the US Embassy in Cuba, Martha Hernandez Romero, Mayor of Havana; Bruno Eduardo Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs; Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda, Minister of Public Health; Manuel Marrero Cruz, Cuban Minister of Tourism; Dr. Mariela Castro, Director of research institution CENESEX; and other Cuban healthcare leaders. Mayor Bowser also visited the University of Havana and is planning to visit the Solidarity with Panama special needs school, and the Rancho Boyeros public school.
