Mayor Bowser to Host 2018 District of Columbia Sustainability Awards

Ceremony Includes the Release of the 5th Annual Sustainable DC Progress Report

(Washington, DC) – On Wednesday, April 18, at 5:30 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) will continue to celebrate #EarthWeekDC by hosting the 2018 District of Columbia Sustainability Awards, which recognizes outstanding individuals, businesses, and institutions for their environmental leadership and contributions to sustainability. The honorees support the goals of the Mayor’s sustainability plan, Sustainable DC, in areas such as energy and water conservation, renewable energy production, healthy food access, stormwater management, green jobs development, and sustainable waste management.
 
Mayor Bowser has declared this #EarthWeekDC by launching a series of events that celebrate Earth Day as well as highlight her Administration’s progress in making DC the healthiest, greenest, and most livable city in the United States.
