Mayor Bowser to Highlight How #FairShot Budget Investments Improve Infrastructure, Expand Mobility Options for DC Residents

(Washington, DC) – On Thursday, June 17, at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will highlight key investments in her Fiscal Year 2022 #FairShot Budget that will provide infrastructure and mobility improvements for District residents in all eight wards. These significant investments include roadway repairs, new bike lanes and pedestrian trails, expanded access to bike sharing and more car free lanes. The Mayor will also cut the ribbon for the Eastern Market Metro Park Plaza, the second phase of the Eastern Market Metro Park project. In 2020, the first phase of the project delivered a new playground, splash pad, and more to the Capitol Hill community; this second phase includes additional amenities such as a pavilion and local artwork, as well as pedestrian and streetscape improvements.
