Mayor Bowser to Highlight Administration’s Housing and Jobs Initiatives at the More for Housing Now! Rally

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Tomorrow at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will highlight her Administration’s unprecedented investments in DC Government programs that promote pathways to the middle class for all DC residents by producing and preserving affordable homes, implementing new strategies to end chronic homelessness, and connecting more residents to job and employment training resources. 

Since taking office in January 2015, Mayor Bowser has made an unprecedented $100 million annual investment into the Housing Production Trust Fund; decreased the unemployment rate in all eight wards; helped more than 2,500 families avoid DC homeless services system; and connected more than 1,800 veterans to permanent housing. Due to the launch of Homeward DC, investments has increased by 60 percent in permanent housing programs such as Rapid Rehousing, Targeted Affordable Housing, and Permanent Supportive Housing.
