(Washington, DC) – On Wednesday, November 22 at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will join District officials and volunteers to celebrate Thanksgiving and deliver remarks at the 24th Annual Safeway Feast of Sharing.
Since 1999, the annual Safeway Feast of Sharing has brought together over 1,000 volunteers annually—from government officials to local celebrities and community leaders—to serve a traditional Thanksgiving meal and distribute winter coats and clothing to DC residents in need. Attendees will also receive care packages with personal care items including toothpaste, toothbrushes, socks, and gloves.
In addition to food and clothing, attendees will also be able to access community services and a vaccine clinic sponsored by Safeway Pharmacy, so DC residents can be protected against respiratory illnesses this winter.
This year, the Safeway Feast of Sharing is supported by partners including Events DC, Unity Health Care, Aramark, The Salvation Army National Capital Area, the Washington Commanders, and Runway for a Cause. The 2023 Feast of Sharing is expected to host almost 5,000 residents and seniors, who are often most in need during the holiday season.
