Mayor Bowser to Cut Ribbon on Stead Park Recreation Center, DC’s First Net Zero Ready Recreation Center

(Washington, DC) – On Thursday, February 1 at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will be joined by District leaders and community members to cut the ribbon on the new Stead Park Recreation Center, the District’s first Net Zero Ready recreation center. As a Net Zero Ready building, the Stead Park Recreation Center will generate enough renewable energy to offset its annual energy consumption.

The new Stead Park Recreation Center was developed through a partnership between the Department of General Services, the Department of Parks and Recreation, and Friends of Stead Park and features a new fitness center, multi-purpose rooms, demonstration kitchen, basketball court, playground, and spray park.
