Mayor Bowser to Cut the Ribbon on 150 Units of Affordable Housing in Ward 7

Prior to Ribbon Cutting, Mayor to Lead Community Walk in Deanwood Hills Neighborhood

(Washington, DC) – On Tuesday, September 18, at 3 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will be joined by Administration officials to participate in a community walk in Ward 7. During the walk, the Mayor will address neighborhood concerns and hear from DC residents and business owners in the Deanwood Hills neighborhood.

At the conclusion of the Ward 7 community walk at 4:30 pm, Mayor Bowser will cut the ribbon at the Residences at Hayes, a new 150-unit affordable housing community at 5201 Hayes Street, NE. This housing complex is part of the New Communities Initiative, a District effort to revitalize Washington, DC’s most underserved neighborhoods. One-third of the units (50) will serve residents of the Lincoln Heights/Richardson Dwellings public housing development.
