(Washington, DC) – Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser joined Dynamic Concepts, Inc. (DCI), Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, and US Small Business Administration Deputy Administrator Douglas J. Kramer in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the DC-based company’s newly opened training center in Ward 7.
The new facility is dedicated to providing baseline training in the fields of technology networking and utility infrastructure construction. DCI anticipates training and putting to work more than 100 District residents over the next year with an economic impact of over $10 million to the local economy. Mayor Bowser applauded DCI for investing in the District of Columbia and its residents.
“With booming development all across our city, we need skilled and qualified people to do this work,” said Mayor Bowser. “As our city grows, I’m focused on ensuring that prosperity and economic opportunity reach all eight wards of the District of Columbia. I’m thrilled to have DCI as a partner in this mission, and I applaud this local small business for training District residents in skills necessary to succeed in the workforce of today and tomorrow.”
Following the grand opening celebration, DCI, in coordination with the DC Department of Employment Services (DOES), hosted a hiring fair with DC residents and corporate partners including DC Water and Verizon.
