(Washington, DC) – On Wednesday, June 5 at 12:45 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will attend Career Day at Barnard Elementary School in Ward 4. During the event, Mayor Bowser will share her personal career journey with the soon-to-be promoted 5th grade class, emphasizing the importance of civil service and public leadership.
In DC Public Schools’ (DCPS) current five-year strategic plan, a Capital Commitment 2023-2028, the district outlines a priority of ensuring students are prepared for what’s next, which includes the transition from elementary to middle school. Students are never too young to consider their future, and this event aims to inspire the next generation of leaders to consider careers dedicated to serving the community.
