Mayor Bowser to Break Ground on Palisades Recreation Center

(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Tuesday, July 4, at 12:30 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will break ground on the Palisades Recreation Center, a $9.5 million modernization project that will include a half-court gymnasium, fitness and community rooms, and a 6,000 square-foot addition near the outdoor terrace and rear lawn in Ward 3. Designed to meet the LEED Gold Certification for an eco-friendly and energy-efficient environment, the renovated facility will also include new installations of fire alarms, fire sprinklers, and ADA compliant public restrooms.

Prior to the groundbreaking ceremony, Mayor Bowser will participate in the Palisades Fourth of July Parade at 11 am Starting location will be at MacArthur Boulevard, NW, and Whitehaven Parkway, NW.
