Mayor Bowser to Break Ground on Modernization of Shepherd Park Community Center

(Washington, DC) – On Tuesday, December 17, at 3 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will break ground on the modernization of Shepherd Park Community Center, a $13.1 million project that will serve the needs of both Shepherd Elementary School and the Shepherd Park neighborhood.

The modernization will add a new community center that will be attached to the existing Shepherd Elementary and used during school hours as their gymnasium and dining cafeteria. The new facility is designed to also include a multipurpose room, a fitness center that can be used by the community, office and storage space, and additional bathrooms.
