(WASHINGTON, D.C.) -- Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser announced the appointment of Reverend Donald L. Isaac, Sr. as Director of the Office of Religious Affairs.
“I am happy to appoint Reverend Donald Isaac to lead the Office of Religious Affairs,” said Mayor Bowser. “Rev. Isaac has distinguished himself as a well-known advocate for those in need. His compassion for the most vulnerable and his passion for public policy are the perfect combination to provide valuable insight in my Fresh Start for the District.”
Previously, Rev. Isaac has served the residents of the District as a Senior Auditor in the Office of the DC Auditor and as Chief Financial Officer for the Council of the District of Columbia. He has also served as an Executive Director of a faith-based organization and as Chairperson of the Mayor’s Interfaith Council. He has and is currently serving as a local Pastor. He holds a Masters in Public Administration from Southeastern University, a B.S. in Urban Planning from UDC and a B. Th. from Washington Baptist Seminary.
The District’s Office of Religious Affairs provides constituent services and information to religious community through programmatic activities and outreach materials. The office serves as a liaison between the Mayor, the religious community, and District government agencies.
