Mayor Bowser will also be joined by Ward 3 Councilmember Mary Cheh, Laura Zeilinger, Director of the DC Department of Human Services, and Jean-Michel Giraud, President/CEO of Friendship Place, to celebrate the one-year operation anniversary of The Brooks, Ward 3’s short-term family housing program, which opened its doors to families experiencing homeless during the COVID-19 public health emergency in April 2021.
