Mayor Bowser to Announce New Safer, Stronger DC Legislation

(Washington, DC) – On Monday, May 15 at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will be joined by District public safety officials to announce new programmatic actions and proposed legislation for addressing gaps in DC’s public safety and justice ecosystem and building a safer, stronger DC.

This announcement comes after Mayor Bowser held a public safety summit where she brought together local and federal public safety officials and partners to discuss what is working, what is not working, and what needs to change to improve public safety in DC. In addition to the public safety summit, earlier this year, the Mayor held public safety meetings with school leaders and Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners.
