Mayor Bowser to Announce Grantees to Administer New Families First DC Centers in Wards 7 and 8

(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Monday, December 16, at 11:30 a.m., Mayor Muriel Bowser will announce a new upstream prevention program with grants to 10 community-based organizations that will help open 10 Family Success Centers in Wards 7 and 8 as part of her Families First DC initiative.

Families First DC, which the Mayor proposed for the first time in this budget to be led by the DC Child and Family Services Agency, is a $4 million investment to provide families with primary prevention services and neighborhood-driven resources to increase protective factors, mitigate trauma, and help families thrive East of the River.
