Mayor Bowser and Nightlife Community to Rally in Support of Late-Night Metro Service

(Washington, DC) – On Wednesday, February 26, at 4 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser and Director of the Mayor’s Office of Nightlife and Culture (MONC) Shawn Townsend will join members of DC’s nightlife industry at a rally in support of restoring Metro’s late-night service hours. The Mayor will also release a report that looks at the current and future needs and impacts of the city’s nightlife industry. The report includes new data showing strong support from the nightlife community for the return of late-night service. Following the rally, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) will host their FY2021 Budget Public Hearing where stakeholders from the nightlife industry are expected to speak in favor of returning late-night service.
