Mayor Bowser to Address District Preparation for the March for Our Lives Rally

(Washington, DC) – On Tuesday, March 20, at 12 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will host a press conference at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on the District’s preparation for the March for Our Lives rally. The press conference will include briefings from Metropolitan Police Chief Peter Newsham and D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Director Christopher Rodriguez and will focus on the District’s planning and public safety preparations for the event.

The March For Our Lives rally is scheduled to begin at noon on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW between 3rd Street and 12th Street on March 24, 2018. The rally, addressing gun violence in schools, will include a diverse program of student speakers, musical performances, guest speakers and video tributes from 12 pm until 3 pm.
