(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Saturday, May 1 at 11 am, Mayor Bowser and community leaders will canvass neighborhoods across the District to help Washingtonians make a plan to get the free COVID-19 vaccine. Ten centrally located sites will serve as activation hubs for the anticipated 1,000 volunteers to canvass across all eight wards on this Day of Action. May 1 is the first day DC transitions to the use of walk-up sites for all residents 18 and older, and on Saturday, volunteers will support and inform residents on the many ways to get vaccinated. In addition, there will be dedicated resources to support diverse language access needs and resources.
