Coronavirus Data for December 30, 2020

(Washington, DC) – The District’s reported data for Wednesday, December 30, 2020 includes 225 new positive coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, bringing the District’s overall positive case total to 28,983.

The District reported that six additional residents lost their lives due to COVID-19.

  • 37-year-old female
  • 56-year-old male
  • 70-year-old male
  • 72-year-old male
  • 94-year-old female
  • 98-year-old female

Tragically, 786 District residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19.

Out of respect for the health professionals who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic, tomorrow’s data report (with numbers from December 31, 2020), will be distributed at 1 pm to allow these health professionals to rest on New Year’s Day.

The District currently has 50 intensive care unit (ICU) beds available in hospitals out of 345 total ICU beds.

  • 295 total ICU inpatients

Guidance has been published for healthcare providers, employers and the public to provide information on what to do if you have been diagnosed with or are a contact of someone who has COVID-19.

Residents should take the following actions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. An alcohol-based hand sanitizer can be used if soap and water are not available
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
