Mayor Bowser to Announce Legislation to Provide Additional Protections for Victims of Domestic Violence

(Washington, DC) – On Friday, April 24 at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will be joined by United States Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro and District public safety officials to announce the Protecting Victims Amendment Act of 2026, aimed at protecting victims of domestic violence in the District. The proposed legislation strengthens protections for survivors, enhances accountability measures against offenders, and protects survivors’ privacy and safety.
