(Washington, DC) – Today, Monday, January 12 at 4 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will join residents, community leaders, and partners for a community walk through the Fairlawn neighborhood in Ward 8. The walk will begin at Boone Elementary School, which was fully modernized in 2018 through a $52 million investment. During the walk, the Mayor and Administration officials will hear from residents and businesses along the Minnesota Avenue SE corridor.
During her final year in office, Mayor Bowser will host community walks in all eight wards to stay connected with neighborhood priorities. These walks will highlight the Mayor’s commitment to “running through the tape” in 2026 by promoting neighborhood safety, opportunity for local businesses and community members, and a high quality of life across the District.
