(Washington, DC) – On Monday, July 14 at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser and District leaders will be joined by partners to officially open the first-ever, government-owned Eastern Market retail store at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The store features a variety of products from local DC vendors and serves as a cultural and economic extension of the historic Eastern Market, located in Capitol Hill.
The new Eastern Market store is a milestone in the District’s efforts to expand economic opportunity for small businesses, elevate DC’s local identity, and showcase the city’s vibrancy to millions of travelers each year. The store also highlights the Mayor’s broader investment in business growth and retention. Mayor Bowser’s FY26 Budget, Grow DC, provides a bold and innovative plan to grow the District’s economy by balancing attraction dollars to include both tourism and business attraction, making it easier to open a new business in DC by reducing red tape, and making it easier to keep a business in DC by cutting taxes and supporting local businesses.
