Mayor Bowser Launches MOST-DC Portal to Help Families Find Out of School Time Programs

Wednesday, March 19, 2025

(Washington, DC) – Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser and Deputy Mayor for Education Paul Kihn announced the launch of the My Out of School Time DC (MOST-DC) portal, a new online platform designed to make it easier for families to find and register for afterschool and summer programs. The portal, available at most.dc.gov, serves as a one-stop shop for parents to explore Out of School Time (OST) programs for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

“As we continue to make big investments in our schools, we also recognize the importance of supporting students beyond the classroom,” said Mayor Bowser. “The new MOST-DC portal and the Summer in the City resource fair will make it easier for families to find engaging and enriching activities that help young people learn, grow, and thrive year-round.”

The MOST-DC portal, available now, brings together programs from DC Public Schools (DCPS), the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), and the Deputy Mayor for Education’s (DME) Office of Out of School Time Grants and Youth Outcomes (OST Office). Over time, additional agencies and programs will be added. Starting in May 2025, registration for DCPS Out of School Time programs for the 2025-2026 school year will also take place through the portal. MOST-DC is integrated with the DCPS school enrollment system, allowing the system to validate student eligibility automatically. The portal allows families to search for OST programs by home address, school, cost, ward, and grade level, making it easier to find options that fit their needs.

“MOST-DC portal is a convenient one-stop-shop for parents to access all things OST,” said Deputy Mayor for Education Paul Kihn. “By making it easy for families to access the District's extensive menu of OST options all in one place, we will increase awareness and access to OST programming for children, youth, and families across the District, and in doing so help our children grow into the leaders of the future.”

DC families are also invited to the 3rd annual Summer in the City resource fair on Saturday, March 29 at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library from 11 am to 2 pm. The fair will connect families with a wide range of summer programs and activities available through the Learn24 network, nonprofit organizations, and community-based organizations. For additional details and to register for Summer in the City, visit SITC2025.eventbrite.com.

The OST Office, located in the Office of the DME, leads the Learn24 network, which connects youth to quality OST programs across DC. Since 2017, the OST Office has provided over 85,000 young people with enriching afterschool and summer experiences, investing $113 million in programs, emphasizing the Bowser Administration’s continued commitment to developing District children and youth beyond the school day.
